Yesterday, we presented the debut poetry collection “I Do Not Hear” by our student Marija Maran Nocajac. The book was discussed by Marijana Čizmanski Ex Beres and Julijana Tesija, who also officially opened the event on behalf of our university. The event was hosted by Melita Vidović, while the atmosphere was enriched with music and verses by Judita Paljević Kraljik, Tamara Barta Smitran, and Antonija Vujasinović.
“I Do Not Hear” by Marija Maran Nocajac is a book of silence and conversation — with oneself, with God, with others within and around us. And much more than that: it is a book of extraordinary love and the strength to be and live one’s own gift — the gift of writing — especially in times of great pain, when His grace becomes the sole meaning of existence.
Before a full library, Marija spoke about her verses and how her poetry came into being, and a special aspect of this event was that nearly all the participants were our former and current students!
“In this vast world, we often feel like a drop in the ocean of events. But every drop creates a wave. Every small act of love, every gentle prayer, every sincere verse can spark change far beyond our expectations. So, hold on to your mustard seed of faith. Nurture it with prayer, water it with gratitude, protect it with trust. Because even when you feel too small, when you think there’s no hope, remember the mustard seed, and know: within you begins a great growth.” (from the book “I Do Not Hear”)
